Financial Leadership Program: Project teams

The Financial Leadership Program's (FLP) project teams give associates another opportunity to improve their leadership, analytical and teamwork skills. The teams work closely with management and executives to enhance the FLP – to improve its functionality and overall contribution to UTC. Below is a description of the teams, highlighting their current and future initiatives. Each team is organized under an Action Committee Team member at a UTC business unit. The associates stationed at each unit are responsible for supporting the project team located at that unit.

Web Development Team (Otis):
The Web team develops and maintains the FLP's internal (UTC intranet) Web site. Working with UTC's IT departments and external vendors, members of this team will gain software knowledge and develop technical programming skills.

Recruiting Team (Corporate Headquarters):
This team works to attract the highest caliber students for both the FLP and the Financial Internship/Co-op Program (FICP). Members of this team hone interpersonal skills, learn techniques for effective interviewing and develop relationships with university officials. The recruiting team also is responsible for maintaining the content of the FLP's external Web site.

Career Development Team (Hamilton Sundstrand):
The Career Development Team works to enhance career development opportunities for finance associates through networking, mentoring and development tracking. This team works on the executive mentoring plan as well as FLP alumni retention and satisfaction.

Activities Team (Pratt & Whitney):
This team plans and coordinates the FLP's leadership seminars and monthly community, training and social events. The leadership seminars involve team-building activities, skill-building classes and executive interaction workshops.

Best Practices Team (Sikorsky):
This team researches "best practices" from both internal and external employee development programs and incorporates them into the FLP by sharing the information they have gathered with the other project teams.
