The primary objective of this position is to manage sourcing projects and implement savings to improve companys profitability. This position will develop sourcing strategies, establish project plans and manage overall success of those projects. Candidate will work with external suppliers, internal procurement personnel, management and other key stakeholders to ensure project objectives are timely achieved.
1. Manage product and services spend. Lead the efforts to negotiate, contract and manage performance with key suppliers. 2. Work extensively with division procurement, operations teams, and senior stakeholders to ensure their support, to gain feedback and to communicate progress of the programs. 3. Work with other Sourcing professionals within UTC and UTC FS to leverage spend across all businesses. 4. Analyze spend, supply base and customer requirements to identify opportunities to drive cost, quality and service improvements. 5. Monitor and evaluate pricing, material, and commodity trends and manages raw inventory. 6. Support procurement function for remote facilities and centrally manage key suppliers. Responsible for monitoring the disposition of rejection parts from suppliers for product quality purposes. 7. In all areas of responsibility, the incumbent is responsible for providing full compliance with the 'UTC Policy Statement on Contracting with the United States Government' and the 'UTC Code of Ethics', which includes ensuring subordinate staff are aware of the policies and that their responsibilities and actions comply and support these policies. 8. In all areas of responsibility which have a direct impact on the health and safety of employees and the environment, assure that appropriate safeguards are in place and that the 'UTC Policy and Principles on Human and Natural Resource Protection' is fully supported and implemented. 9. Responsible for the performance of other tasks related to this position as they are assigned by cognizant management.
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Operations, or other business-related field 5-7 years experience in purchasing and/or global sourcing, including supervisory experience.
Must have strong negotiation skills and demonstrated ability to develop and implement sourcing projects.
Effective team builder and leader with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
Skilled in developing work relationships with internal customers, stakeholders and external suppliers
Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and to translate learning into actionable, measurable initiatives.
Analytical and detail-oriented with good problem solving skills
Effective communications skills, able to interact with all levels in the organization
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
